Herb Toasted Walnuts
Herb Toasted Walnuts are a fall favorite! Great as a salad topper or with these amazing Brussels Sprouts with Walnuts. These are also a great addition for your other Thanksgiving sides.
Toasting walnuts is a nice crunchy addition to your salad or side dish. This recipe only takes three ingredients and 5 minutes to make.
How do you toast walnuts?
There are two common ways to toast walnuts: in the oven or on the stove. If you would like to toast your walnuts in the oven, use a parchment lined baking sheet and toast on 350° for about 8-10 minutes. This recipe toasts the walnuts on the stove, so keep reading for those instructions!
Can you herb toasted walnuts without oil?
Yes! You should use a skillet or baking sheet without oil when toasting. You can always add oil after the walnuts are toasted along with spices and herbs.
What herbs or spices can you use when toasting walnuts?
You can really get creative here! Simply use herbs and spices that will complement your dishes you are serving. I kept it simple for this recipe and used Italian seasoning, but you can use any of those herbs singularly (dried basil, dried oregano, dried rosemary, dried thyme, and dried marjoram). You can also use spices such as cinnamon or keep it simple with salt and pepper.
Candied walnuts are also a great way to take your walnuts from plain to amazing!
